Medical and Pharmaceutical Fields
HEPA filters are a common choice in operating rooms, sterile wards, and pharmaceutical plants (particularly non-sterile preparation workshops). They effectively remove bacteria and viruses (viruses typically attach to droplet nuclei, which are within the HEPA filter range).
ULPA filters, on the other hand, are primarily used in BSL-3 and BSL-4 biosafety laboratories, as well as in certain filling lines for sterile injectables, ensuring absolute safety.

Electronics and Semiconductor Industry
HEPA filters can be used in ISO Class 5-8 cleanrooms.
ULPA filters are standard equipment in ISO Class 1-5 ultra-clean spaces, such as chip lithography areas and microelectronics manufacturing, where even tiny particles can cause significant damage.

Industry and Specialty Applications
In food processing and certain chemical production processes, HEPA/ULPA filters effectively control microbial contamination, ensuring product safety and quality.
The nuclear industry and some research institutions also use these filters to filter radioactive particles or hazardous chemicals.

Home and Commercial Premises
HEPA filters are an effective and cost-effective option for improving indoor air quality and removing pollen, dust mites, pet dander, smoke (PM2.5), and other pollutants.
ULPA filters are generally not recommended for use in residential environments. Due to their denser fibers, they may result in higher energy consumption and noise levels. Furthermore, HEPA filters are adequate for common household pollutants.
